State nomination will help you in obtaining additional points for your subclass 190 or subclass 491 application and a skilled migration visa from the Australian government. Your residency status will depend on the visa subclass for which you received the nomination. Generally, you will need to show the willingness to live and work in the state and will need to show the required skilled experience. In order to receive the state nomination, you are required to submit an Expression of Interest through the state government website.
